Our opening meeting features Professor Justin Waskiewicz of Paul Smiths College.  He will present a power point lecture on the wonders of the forest’s soil.  Be sure to refresh your memory on the word mycorrhiza.  After lunch, Justin will lead a short walk in the woods. In preparation for this lecture, you might read “Finding the Mother Tree” by Suzanne Simard and “The Hidden Secret of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben, our book club selection in 2018.  This event is open to the public.
