Hope Jahren, author of Lab Girl, has written a delightful and informative memoir about her life (and struggles) as a scientist studying trees, flowers, seeds and soil, and as a wife, mother and a friend.  The book is divided into 3 parts that takes us from her childhood in rural Minnesota into adulthood and on to Hawaii with her family and Bill to become a tenured professor at the University of Hawaii. This book has won numerous awards.
