NY State Declares April Native Plant Month
By NY state resolution, April has been designated native plant month in recognition of the importance of native plants to environmental conservation and restoration. This year, the Zone III conservation group is celebrating native trees in particular, and the AGC will honor the mighty oak. In addition to protecting oak seedlings at the Essex Quarry Nature Preserve and propagating red oak from acorns, the conservation committee will discuss Doug Tallamy's book "The Nature of Oaks."
The discussion will be via Zoom on Monday, April 22 (Earth Day) at 5 pm.
