Mossbrook Flower Farm offers locally field grown flowers on the Mace Chasm Road in the farming community of Keeseville, New York. Members can pick their own bouquet and the owner Jackie, or her floral designer Jenn, will talk about tips on how to extend the life of the flowers you just picked. Please come prepared with your own snips and a bucket filled with water to hold your flowers. There are seating venues on the property where we can enjoy our own brown bag lunch and beverage.
Visiting Gardens is pleased to announce a different type of garden venue for the afternoon of our first Visiting Gardens event on June 29th. We will be visiting North Country Creamery, where we will be given a tour by Ashlee Kleinhammer, one of the owners of the farm. (Approximate start time of tour will be 12:45.)
She will take us on a guided tour of her dairy operations, the cheese cave, and the processing facility. North Country Creamery has 35 grass-fed cows, 3 separate cow herds that graze happily on 40 acres. Best of all, we will be able to visit with the cows and possibly a new calf or two. Apples will be provided if you would like to give these sweet cows a treat.
We can pop into the Clover Mead Cafe, where it’s possible to purchase her fresh farmstead cheeses, Raw milk, and cream-line yogurt from the Milking Shorthorn and Jersey cows on the farm, or to just grab a cookie, a cup of tea, or coffee.
There will be picnic tables for you to relax and enjoy viewing the activities of a dairy farm. The flower garden on the farm will just be coming into bloom! We suggest you bring a cooler, as you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to purchase their delicious assortment of farmstead cheeses, yogurt as well as a variety of organic local produce. A restroom is located in the cafe.
The RSVP date June 22nd ....please join us at one or both venues.
