Adirondack Garden Club’s Annual Wreath-Making Tradition Brings Holiday Cheer
In what has become a cherished annual tradition, more than twenty Adirondack Garden Club (AGC) members and their guests gathered in early December at the historic Whallonsburg Grange to craft fragrant evergreen wreaths for the holiday season. For a club best known for its summer activities, the strong turnout was a heartwarming testament to the spirit of the season.
While some wreaths were destined to adorn members’ homes, the true focus of the afternoon was giving back. With laughter, greenery, and ribbons filling the room, members created beautiful wreaths for families served by Families First in Elizabethtown, the countywide organization that supports families facing mental health challenges.
Over the years, the Families First wreath-making initiative has grown into one of AGC’s most beloved service projects. This year alone, members crafted more than fifty wreaths for local families, each one a handmade symbol of care, community, and connection.
Through simple acts of creativity and generosity, the Adirondack Garden Club continues to spread warmth well beyond the garden gate.
