Adirondack Garden Club Honors Four Members at Annual Meeting

At its Annual Meeting, the Adirondack Garden Club recognized four members for their outstanding service and contributions to the club and the broader community.

The Gretta Prince Memorial Cachepot is an internal AGC award determined by the club president. In 2025, two members received the honor. Lynn Harrison was recognized for her tireless service across multiple committees, including chairing Nominations and Ways and Means, serving as recording secretary, and providing invaluable guidance to the club. Laura Sells-Doyle was honored for her creative work on the newsletter, delighting members with her photography and engaging layouts.

The Garden Club of America Medal of Merit is awarded to a club member for contributions of exceptional merit in horticulture, conservation, or civic achievement. Members are nominated by the AGC Awards Committee, and the recipient is selected by GCA. It is considered the organization’s most prestigious club honor. Nancy Howard received the GCA Medal of Merit for her inspiring leadership in conservation in the Adirondacks and beyond, as well as for elevating the club’s profile through her impactful service on the National Affairs and Legislation Committee.

The GCA Club Appreciation Award recognizes dedicated and sustained participation within a member’s own club. Recipients are nominated by the AGC Awards Committee and selected by GCA. Airlie Lennon received the award for her deep organizational knowledge, professionalism, generosity, and ever-present good humor.
